installation stuck

Toshiba laptop
Tried installing twice, never completes. I can turn off computer but after start up install is still going. Can get into safe mode but install overrides it. Unable to access windows xp, internet, etc.

Can you provide more information? System description, free disk space, etc.? At what point in the installation process does Setup hang? Are you sure that Setup is hung and not just taking a long time (it could take hours if you are doing an upgrade on a slower system)?
